Info I grew up near Cambridge in England, from Welsh roots and am now based most of the time in County Limerick, Éire, where I'm studying for a degree in traditional Irish music and dance. I play fiddle, piano, and uilleann pipes. I have a strong interest in all the arts, (and for me they are all inextricably linked...) but particularly photography, illustration, web/graphic design and jewellery making. My photography often follows the themes of music and portraiture, and I use Pentax MX and Holga 120FN cameras. I learnt almost everything I know (photography-wise) from my dad, and from Amber. The rest was trial and error! One of my favourite themes for photography is live music performance. I never use flash, and all my work is hand-held - even in low light, where I use very fast films to capture a real sense of the atmosphere...flash often destroys this. My favourite media for illustration include biro, watercolour paints, and collage techniques. I like the idea of chaos within a structure. (C) L.Doe 2006 | melodic design
