Welcome to the website for my small indie Art, Craft and Jewellery business RaggleTaggleGypsy - named after a traditional song found in many areas of the UK and Ireland.
I am an Artist, Musician and Photographer from the UK (born in York, with Welsh roots but grew up in Cambridgeshire). I spent 4 years living in Limerick, on the West coast of Ireland and am now based back in Cambridge, England. I read that quite a few of my ancestors on one side of my family were listed in the National census as "Hawkers" and "General Dealers", which I find amusing and extremely inspiring. I hope to grow up to be a "General Dealer".
I like the idea that all forms of art are linked, fluid and interchangeable. I like to design websites using a biro and pieces of torn paper, and send emails written in pen and ink. Everything is a predominantly visual experience, including music. I like 'chaos' within a structure.
My favourite media for illustration include biro, watercolour paints, and collage techniques. My jewellery, prints and stationary etc are all based on illustrations or painted pieces, and thus are named according to the piece that they came from.
